The pinnacle of his coaching career came in 1999 when he led the Boxers to a 19-3-1 record en route to the Division I South Sectional Final at the Fleetcenter (the Boston Garden). That same year he was named Massachusetts High School Hockey Coach of the Year. In 2002, he was elected to the Massachusetts State Hockey Coaches Association Hall of Fame and received the NIHOA Coach of the Year. Darcy retired in 2004 and was elected to the Brockton High School Hall of Fame in 2005. In 2008, Darcy returned as a volunteer coach and continues to help guide the Boxers hockey program.
