"Respect is not given, it's earned."
Boston College shows great execution of hockey fundementals on their first three goals in a game versus Boston University on January 21, 2011. On the first goal, the first man enters the zone wide, the second man drives hard to the net, and the third man stays high in the slot area. On the second goal, BC moves the puck quickly without overhandling the puck (quick one-touch passing). On the third goal, the defenseman shoots a quick wristshot (without any big windup to prevent a blocked shot) on net with good net front presence out front from the forwards. Boston University's first goal, again, is created by hard work down low and a forward going hard to the net.
At the 6:45 mark, BC defenseman Tommy Cross scores an OT goal in the first round of the 2011 Beanpot by shooting the puck quickly from the point. (Again, no big wind up, the shot is taken quickly to prevent a blocked shot and to get the shot on net and create offense before the defenders and the goaltender can get set up).
